Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, started musical training at the age of 9 years old. Played for a series of churches and rhythm and blues bands in the outlying area. Moved to New York in 1989 to pursue music and continue to work as musician, author of critically acclaimed music instruction book and composer of numerous tracks as well as a producer. Also a music instructor of 22 years.
